My journey to clear skin, part 1

Acne, my story, part one

A little bit of background information on me, my mum is medical doctor, an we have a lot of doctors and nurses in out immediate family, so I have had access to every available product on the market, and even some that were not available in South Africa from when my mum went for doctors courses over seas!!

My acne started when I was just at the tender age of 11 years old, can you believe it 11?

At that time, after consulting with lots of family doctors including a dermatologist it was decided to treat it with just medicated products, my mum got me mild acne fighting facial washes and moisturizers,
After a year on various milder products, my acne only got worse as time went by, it was a nightmare

At age 12 the acne had spread to my chest and back, and it was starting to affect my confidence and performance at school, so my mum decided to start to start me on antibiotics,
my back started to clear up but not by much and I stayed on those for 8 months, on and off,
At 13 years my acne was at it's all time worst, it had spread to my inner thighs and buttox area, and the acne was inflamed and painful with bleeding, I could not wear white or light color T-shirts as the puss would dry to them and look horrible, this is when the teasing started at school, I did not want to leave my bedroom, my confidence was at an all time low, and I hated myself,
I could not understand how my older sister and brother had not a single pimple,
kids would tease me, saying that I didn't bath, or that I didn't wash properly, that I was dirty....
I started to squeeze my pimples regularly so they would not ooze when I was out in public, and starting using an orange sack to wash myself, and I would scrub at my skin until it was raw, I began having a bath 3 to 6 times a day, and on top of all this I started suffering from hyperhidrosis which is a condition that causes excessive sweating.
This was a nightmare period of my life and till today I'm not sure how I got through it!
